HME billing and management software company Brightree and McKesson Medical-Surgical Supply Inc. have strengthened their electronic data exchange relationship. Brightree will now offer electronic purchasing transactions and initial program setup at no charge for Brightree customers through McKesson Direct, an electronic order interface for HME providers.
Brightree’s integrated electronic purchasing with McKesson Direct lets HME providers view McKesson item availability in real time; perform one-touch drop shipments; and receive automatic confirmations, including delivery notifications. Providers can quickly place accurate orders with key suppliers, decrease shipping and delivery expenses, optimize inventory by reducing carrying costs and eliminate re-keying and data entry errors.
When a purchase order is created in the Brightree system, a transmission is sent from Brightree via a secure connection to the McKesson Medical-Surgical system. The electronic links between the companies’ systems provide customers real-time access to product details, inventory availability and order information, as well as the ability to submit a purchase order directly without having to call or fax in orders. The links also let customers track their purchases with order confirmations, shipping and delivery notifications, as well as electronic invoices.
