After three years at the Sands Expo and Convention Center, Medtrade Spring will move next year to the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, and will stay there through 2015.
The largest convention center in Las Vegas and the fifth largest in the country new venue will let virtually all attendees stay at the hotel, with no need to commute to the convention site.
“Mandalay houses everything under one roof and features many price points,” said Kevin Gaffney, CEM, group show director, Medtrade. “It gives us a larger presence, and provides room to grow. In additional to great accommodations at Mandalay Bay, attendees and exhibitors can also find great rates for rooms at The Luxor or The Excalibur as well.”
After reviewing feedback from exhibitors and attendees, Nielsen officials decided to make the change.
“After each year, we seriously evaluate all comments in an effort to make the show as helpful as possible,” Gaffney said. “These are challenging times for HME providers. It’s our mission to bring the best education and products in an effort to help everyone survive and thrive in the years ahead.”
The Mandalay Bay Convention Center also offers:
- Nearly 1 million square feet of flexible exhibit space on two levels.
- Three levels of multi-purpose meeting and function space.
- Four pillarless, high-ceiling ballrooms ranging from 31,000 to 100,000 square feet.
- A 100,000 square-foot “mega-ballroom” which is the largest pillarless hotel ballroom in the nation.
- Breakout space to accommodate more than 75 simultaneous meetings.
Medtrade Spring 2013 will take place March 19 through 21. The Expo will be open on Wednesday, March 20, and Thursday, March 21. Medtrade 2012 will take place at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta from October 15 through 18. For more information, visit www.medtrade.com, or call (800) 933-8735 for more information.
