Bid Repeal Bill Up to 141 Backers

Industry lobbying gains four more co-sponsors for H.R. 1041.

Support for H.R. 1041, the House bill introduced by Representatives Glenn Thompson (R-Pa.) and Jason Altmire (D-Pa.) that calls for the repeal of the bid program, continues to gain support, but at a slower pace than when it was initially introduced. Since our July 15report, the bill has gained four additional co-sponsors, bringing the total to 141.

The new co-sponsors are:

  • Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.)
  • Rep. Howard "Buck" McKeon (R-Calif.)
  • Rep. Robert Hurt (R-Va.)
  • Rep. Paul Tonko (D-N.Y.)

Both national and state industry associations have called on providers to intensify their lobbying efforts on behalf of H.R. 1041.
