Team Invacare's Van Der Vorst Wins Düsseldorf Marathon

Athlete takes women’s handcycle division with a lead of more than 7 minutes.

Team Invacare’s Monique Van der Vorst (Netherlands) placed first in the women's handcycle division at this month’s Düsseldorf Marathon.

A member of Team Invacare since 2003, Van der Vorst rode Invacare’s new Top End Force R Handcycle across the finish line in the May 3 race with a time of 1:23.56, leading second-place finisher Lily Anggreny (Germany) by more than seven minutes.

The Top End Force R Handcycle is the latest super-recumbent handcycle model in the Invacare’s Force racing series.

"We designed the Invacare Top End Force R Handcycle with comfort, speed and aerodynamics in mind," said Chris Peterson, director of Invacare Top End.
Designed for competitive performance, the handcycle’s computer-aided teardrop design delivers a stiff, low-to-the ground, aerodynamic frame. The Force R Handcycle offers an adjustable, lie-down or recumbent position with an easy-to-adjust backrest and crank support. Easy adjustments and breathable mesh upholstery optimize comfort using mostly arm, shoulder and chest muscles.
