DME manufacturer Drive Medical has completed a significant portion of its restructuring plan to integrate sleep and respiratory company DeVilbiss Healthcare. Combined, the organizations will have more than 2,000 employees worldwide and distribute their products in more than 80 countries.
Drive acquired DeVilbiss in July, but DeVilbiss will continue to operate independently until the two companies are seamlessly integrated in the Americas. Upon completion of the integration, which is expected to be completed by the end of October, 2015, the new company will be known as Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare Inc. In the rest of the world, Drive and DeVilbiss will continue to operate as independent entities.
“The plan from the beginning was to bring together the best and brightest talent from both organizations and to return the DeVilbiss brand to the leadership position it once held,” Drive CEO Harvey Diamond said. “Over the next few months, we will be focused on the operational aspects of the integration plan with a renewed focus on innovation and the development of new products.”
Once the two companies are integrated in the Americas, customers will be able to order both Drive and DeVilbiss products together on one purchase order. A centralized customer service support center will take all orders, and orders will be distributed from a single location, the company reported.
