Portable oxygen equipment maker O2 Concepts has entered into a strategic partnership with Verizon Wireless network to provide “fleet management” for its portable oxygen concentrators in the field.
Announced by O2 Concepts at Medtrade and profiled by HME Business in December, the new Oxlife Independence + DNA Technology leverages the Verizon network to let providers gather and analyze data from POCs and track performance and usage via web portals and custom mobile applications.
When the product becomes available in spring, Oxlife’s DNA Technology uses GPS and wireless data to help providers remotely monitor data the POCs and provide real-time customer support. This should help them reduce overall costs and capital necessary to manage a non-delivery fleet.
“Our industry is experiencing enormous cost pressures and we are seeking solutions to help providers more precisely execute on non-delivery strategies,” O2 Concepts CEO Rob Kent said. “Remote data on devices will allow them to more effectively deploy their equipment and more efficiently maintain it– reducing operating costs and increasing cash flow year over year. We truly believe this is the evolution of the non-delivery model and we couldn’t have found a better partner in Verizon.”
