GF Health Products (Graham-Field), manufacturer of healthcare products for the homecare, long-term care, primary care, and acute care markets, announced its intent to acquire the assets of Jacksonville, Florida-based Pressure Management Group (PMG), a therapeutic support surface manufacturer, on March 16, 2012.
“We are excited about combining PMG with Graham-Field to maximize our product and marketing opportunities in all of the markets we serve,” says Ken Spett, President and CEO of Graham-Field. “The acquisition of PMG’s proprietary non-aqueous gel formulation/manufacturing process will expand Graham-Field’s ‘Made in USA’ Strategic Initiative and will enhance the market potential of Basic American Medical Products long-term care beds, Patriot homecare beds and E&J wheelchairs by bundling a broad line of therapeutic support surfaces.” (Basic American Medical Products and E&J are both names under which Graham-Field sells some of its items in the marketplace.)
“The addition of the PMG product capabilities gives Graham-Field the ability to combine therapeutic pressure management products with a broad range of patient transport and sleep surfaces, creating the end result of a more cost-effective solution with greater patient benefits, which our customers can pass on to the patient,” says Spett.
Graham-Field will relocate the existing PMG manufacturing equipment and processes to its Doraville, Georgia, and Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, facilities.
